Painting for a Cause

Painting for a Cause
March 2, 2026

At North Shelby County Animal Hospital, we’re incredibly proud of our Hospital Manager, Ashley McClure, and her dog Margaux, who has been painting for a cause! Margaux is one of the featured artists in the Tripawds Dog Art Auction, a unique fundraiser supporting the Kaiserin Cancer Care Package Program, which provides monthly care bundles to pets who’ve lost a limb to cancer.

Named after Kaiserin, a brave German Shepherd who inspired the program, these packages include comfort items for pets with cancer, medical supplies, and emotional support resources for pet parents navigating their pets’ cancer and amputation. The program is run by the Tripawds Foundation, a global community dedicated to helping families of amputee pets with financial aid and guidance.

Now in its 5th year, the auction features original artwork from 17 dogs and a mix of other animal artists, including guinea pigs, sloths, a parrot, a monkey, and a pig. Each 10”x10” canvas is auctioned off to raise funds, with painting titles like “Mango Salsa” and “Jeepers Peepers.”

Margaux joins a lineup of inspiring artists like:

  • Peekaboo, a blind dog who paints without sight.
  • Charlotte, a pig who paints by rolling across the canvas.
  • Leonard, a Guinness World Record–holding Border Collie.
  • Leo, a Scottish Spaniel who paints and plays xylophone.

Together, these animals and their families are turning creativity into care, one brushstroke at a time.
